Ephrata Middle School Girls Soccer

Ephrata Soccer Girls and Boys school teams.

When: Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:00 P.M.

Where: Ephrata Turf Field at the middle school.

Purpose: Information for the fall season will be discussed.

The season ending banquet will be held on Monday, May 14th at 6:00 P.M. at the High School cafeteria.

Uniforms can be returned to the coaches car at the end of the evening. All clothing articles need to be washed, dried, and neatly folded. They can then be placed in a bag with the player's name on it.

For those players that can't make it on Monday evening, the captains will be meeting after school on Tuesday to organize the uniform closets. That will be the final day to turn in uniforms.

The girls informed my today that there is only half a day of school this Friday. This leaves us with a dilemma for a practice time. They were to check with you parents when they got home. One option is to do it right after school from 12:30- 2:00. You would need to coordinate transportation for that two o'clock pick up. I figured that would be easier than bringing them at 3:30 and coming back at 5:00. We will decide as a team tomorrow as to what works best for everyone.

Both of next week's games will be played back to back. Monday is a home game versus Manheim Central. The Varsity will start at 4:00 and JV at about 5:15. Both games will be played on the turf field.

Wednesday's game is at Lebanon. Game times and teams will be the same as Monday. It would be greatly appreciated if some parents could drop off some bus snacks at the end of Tuesday's practice for that last bus ride.

Please turn your banquet form in to Coach Boyer by game day this Wednesday.

Just a couple of quick reminders about the upcoming week.

- The weather for Monday looks cold and wet. Please send your daughter to school properly prepared. They could be coming home very wet and muddy that day. Don't forget sneakers in case we're inside.

- On Tuesday both teams play at four o'clock at Warwick.

- Wednesday is the pizza party after school and the night games at Cedar Crest. I have plenty of parents to help from 3:00 to 4:30. We could still use someone to donate chips, pretzels, or cheese balls. We could also use something for dessert like homemade brownies or rice krispie treats. JV plays at six o'clock that night and the Varsity game begins at seven.

- Thursday and Friday are regular practice days.

- Saturday morning will be our team breakfast at eight o'clock at the Ephrata Diner.

The games will be both be played at 4 p.m. today, Thursday, April 19, on the two upper grass fields.

On Friday, April 20, we will have a short practice and then go to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Pick up will be at 5 at Dairy Queen.

Folks: We just found out that Northern Lebanon will only have enough players for one team for tomorrow's match. The Varsity team along with several JV players will be riding the bus to the match.

Please check with your daughter tonight to make sure you know what their plans are for tomorrow. There will be no practice for the JV team.

I've attached copies of directions to the school. I'm told that it's a good hour of driving time for a car and even longer for the bus. There is a bridge closure and a detour while going through Lebanon. Please plan accordingly.

Directions: Rte. 322 West to Rte. 72 North (signs will indicate "To Lebanon" around

Mt. Gretna area.) Stay on 72 North—going all the way through the city of Lebanon (stay in the right hand lane in the one-way traffic.) At the "T" intersection at the northern end of Lebanon, turn right (343 North also called Maple St.) and then immediately turn left at the next traffic light (also called 7th St.) Stay on Rte. 343 for approximately 5 or 6 miles. At the intersection of Rte. 22, turn left. Go approximately 1 mile. The school is on the right.

Practice is from 3:00-5:00 on Monday the 9th.

Tuesday the 10th we are at home versus ELCO. Both teams will play simultaneously on the grass fields.

Thursday the 12th will be our long bus ride to Northern Lebanon. Trip snacks would be greatly appreciated.

For the families that are donating drinks for the tournament this Saturday, they can be dropped off at the shed any day except Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00.

We have only two games this week.

Monday, April 2nd versus Warwick. Game time 4:00. The Varsity squad will play on the Turf field. The Junior Varsity squad will play on the grass field.

Thursday, April 5th versus Cedar Crest. These will be back to back games on the grass field. The Junior Varsity game will start at 4:00. The Varsity game should start right around 5:15. ***This is different from the email that you were originally sent.
